In May of 2006 we were linking arms with A.C.T. International, our ministry partner in much of what we do as “musicianaries”. We were in Nashville for a 3-day orientation, getting to know their organization and the many artistic ministers who partner with them. On the final day of orientation, Jeremiah was in the “hotseat”- you know the drill- one person is in the middle of the room in a chair and the rest of the crowd gathers around and takes turns praying for the one in the hotseat. It’s an awesome position to be in- to hear the prayers of others lifting up your ministry.
It was Max’s turn to pray- Max was an 11-year-old with a family of artists/counselors who were from South Africa. As Max prayed, he said, “God is giving me a picture for you right now”… and proceeded to describe this picture that God had put in his head. He said, “you are sitting in a room, playing your guitar, and in front of you on the wall is a world map- all black. As you play your guitar, these notes of gold are flying from your guitar and landing on different places on the world map, turning those places from black to gold.”
…. now, come on- what were we supposed to do with that? It sounded awesome, but we had no context to understand it, so we just tucked it away and waited.
About 1 and 1/2 months later, we were leading worship back in Indiana for a gathering of missionaries from all over the world, gathered together for a week of refreshing. After one of our worship times, one man made a beeline for us and began pleading with us- “this kind of worship-leading- this is exactly what we’re dying for out there on the field! We’re sending teams all over the world who have no good resource for worship times (an incredibly important part of mission trips), and they’re dying for this.”
Just then we remembered Max’s prayer and his picture, and it made perfect sense. Go into the studio, and produce a resource for worship leading that will be taken all over the world and be a part of bringing light to dark places. So that’s what we did. Through lots of brainstorming and praying and trial and error, and through consistently sensing the leading of God and His hand on this, we are just about ready to send this baby out!
God has provided for every penny of the expense, and by Easter time, this project will be making its way around the globe, leading people in worship- people we’ve never met, in places we’ve never been.
Already this project has been used in awesome ways- take a quick read!
This is a reminder of home, very well done, very worshipful, and points me the Savior.

We were going to have communion in our small group and I really wanted worship to be a part of it. But in our group we have no worship leader. We used the “Worship Wherever” cd’s, and I was amazed how people were singing just like a leader was in the room with us. The music took our communion to the next level.

I couldn’t find anyone to lead worship for our Celebrate Recovery class. We came across this resource and I put the words on the screen and people were singing along. At one point we were getting ready to sing “We fall down” and everyone in the room knelt. It was a powerful and moving moment.

Our group of 14 used “Worship Wherever” for our team times on a trip to Vietnam, and it was probably the best worship time I’ve ever experienced! It was so great because it actually felt like someone was leading my team in worship. I loved it!

This worship tool is awesome- You can honestly use it anywhere, anytime! After using it in meetings and in a small group setting, I even asked my teenage daughter to try something for me. I had her pop in the “Worship Wherever” CD and listen to it in the car for a week (instead of her “normal” music)- I could not believe the difference in her attitude and her thinking after a week of worshiping Jesus in the car- my 15-year-old son even commented on the difference! Wow!
